Porta 65 Jovem rent subsidy: is it open, who can apply?

People aged 18 to 35 can apply for the Porta 65 Jovem rent subsidy, which pays part of the rent each month; the portal shows no application period. Since 2 July 2024 you can apply without a rental contract.

Age

18 to 35 (in a young couple, one partner can be up to 37)

Conditions

No other public housing support; no young member of the household owns or rents another home for housing; not related to the landlord

What you get

A monthly subsidy that is a percentage of the rent, up to maximum rents set by municipality (2026 table on the portal)

Rental contract

If you have one, it must run at least one year from the first month of subsidy

Online on the Portal da Habitação, with Cartão de Cidadão, Chave Móvel Digital or tax number and password

Law

Decreto-Lei 42/2024 of 2 July allows applications without a contract
